Student Membership

Students may apply for the student membership scholarship any time during year. However, many current student memberships are due for renewal. Students wanting to apply for renewal must due so before their membership expires. The chapter offers up to TEN student membership scholarships! Below are the student membership requirements:

  1. Attend 4 meetings per year.
  2. Be actively involved on a committee of the chapter's choosing.
  3. Be enrolled in a Built Environment Curriculum.

Scholarship Application

If you are interested in a Tuition Assistance Scholarship please read the Student Scholarship Information to the right to be sure you meet the qualifications. Then download and fill out the Scholarship Application Form by going to this link: Facility Management Scholarship Application Form. You should return all sections as instructed on the form. Please contact us if there are any problems answering any of the questions or obtaining the required documentation.

Student Scholarships

The Central Illinois Chapter of IFMA offers sholarships to qualified individuals pursuing a course of study in facility management or related studies. The tuition assistance scholarship application is due July 1, each year. Students wanting to apply for tuition assistance scholarship must do so on or before July 1. Any application submitted and post marked after July 1, will not be considered for the fall scholarship. So it is critical that you submit your application as soon as possible!

Student Scholarship

General Information

One $1000 annual scholarship. (Central Illinois Chapter of IFMA reserves the right to reduce the amount if annual funds are short, increase the amount if annual funds have grown, or provide multiple scholarships when funds are sufficient.)

The scholarship(s) is offered to graduate or undergraduate students who have been admitted to facility management or related programs, and who seek financial assistance to pursue this education. Related programs include, but are not limited to, architecture, engineering, interior design, plant management, industrial technology, and construction technology.

The scholarship(s) is administered by the Central Illinois Chapter of the International Facility Management Association, a local non-profit educational organization dedicated to the advancement of facility management in cooperation with the National IFMA organization.

The funding for the scholarship is provided by the Central Illinois Chapter of IFMA through two major events within the calendar year, an annual golf outing, and an annual educational conference. Funding is subject to the continuation and growth of these events on an annual basis.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Must be a full-time graduate or a junior or senior level undergraduate student as defined by your university
  2. May not be employed full-time as a facility management professional
  3. Graduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00
  4. Undergraduate students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75
  5. Student must be enrolled in a facility management or related degree program (architecture, construction management, interior design)
  6. APPLICATION POSTMARK DEADLINE IS July 1, of the year in which you are applying.
